Accept that differences are just that — differences. When you take the position that you are right and your partner is wrong, nobody wins.
Often partners are attracted to each other because of their differences. A stable person and an impulsive one are drawn to each other, hoping the relationship will help each of them feel complete. Then they criticize each other for the traits that attracted them in the first place.
Your assignment, should you choose to accept it:
List three ways in which you wish your partner were more like you. Now think about how you were attracted to at least one of those differences when your relationship was new. Tell each other why you originally liked the very thing that distresses you now.
