Encourage your partner to get professional help if you think s/he needs it. Offer to go along, if that seems helpful.

It’s easy to believe that a chronic problem is not that bad, because you have gotten used to it. You may be in a better position than your partner to know when help is needed. Tell your partner about your concerns, and ask whether they are shared.

Your weekly assignment, should you choose to accept it:

Make an agreement that you will do this with each other when necessary. If there is a problem that either of you thinks needs attention, talk about it now.
