Support your partner in contributing to your community. Contributing time, money or energy to causes you both believe in will cement your relationship.
You probably are already a part of many different communities, such as workgroups, athletic groups, church groups and civic associations. When you contribute to these groups, you feel better about yourselves and have more to share with each other.

If you feel that doing more for the community will be good for you, investigate opportunities to contribute to something together. If you are already over-committed, discuss ways to focus your energy only on the things that are most meaningful to you.
